About

Our mission is to educate the public and promote community well-being in North Texas by observing, documenting, and sharing knowledge about local ecology and environmental health, and by advancing public understanding of active aging, senior fitness, and practical nutrition.

Alongside that work, we document the traditional knowledge, foodways, and history of communities whose stories are underrepresented in English-language sources.

How we work

Everything we publish is free. We research carefully, write in plain language, cite our sources, and record interviews only with the consent of the people who share their knowledge.

The organization is governed by a volunteer board of directors who serve without compensation. We are not currently soliciting donations.
